The Light Tower Church

Oldest Church in Britain
Britain's oldest known church is in Dover, on Eastern Heights, standing within the Castle compound. Dedicated to Saint Mary The Virgin, it is complete with a Roman light tower, an important part of Britannia's heritage of the Roman Empire. This light tower has also been used as the church's bell tower, a use which made it an integral part of the church.

Church of Celtic Origin

Officially, the church is of Saxon construction, but there is a strong case that it was built by the Britons around the fourth century. This would make it Britain's oldest standing Celtic church.

Dover's church on Eastern Heights, standing above the port, is Britain's only light tower Church. It is testimony that the Empire passed from Rome to Britannia, Empress of Caesarea by the Sea.

 

The Gospel Comes to England

When did the Gospel come to England?
In the second half of the sixth century, a Kentish prince married a Frankish princess. She came over to Canterbury, capital of Kent, and with her she brought the Gospel. This is how the Gospel came to England.

First English Christian King
The young prince was charmed, he loved his wife, and learned from her the Word of Jesus. Succeeding his father to the throne of Kent, he became king, and his consort became the queen. He became the first English Christian king, and made Canterbury the seat of a bishopric.
From the time when the Gospel came to England, Canterbury has remained famous throughout the ages as the centre of Christian pilgrimage.

I was quickly walking through the Garden of England, marched down Scotland Common and entered Dover; descending along Shooters Hill I stopped and aimed my camera at Dover Castle, the Union Jack flying proudly over the Castle and the British Isles!

The Red Saint George House

In a dream I saw a large, square, red building along a pathway in Dover. I called it the red Saint George building. About two years later I moved to a house, and to my surprise found that the garden corresponds exactly to the place where I saw the red building. This is the red Saint George house.

Sunrise in the East

The sun rises over the English Sea and illuminates the British Isles, starting at Eastern Heights. The Light Tower Church of our Fair Lady Britannia stands at the Castle above Dover by the Sea.

From East to West

From East to West travels the sun, over Dubra, the town and port of the waters, following the cosmic order in an arc of Prosperity, from the Eastern Heights to the Western Heights on the White Cliffs of Dover.

Dover's Western Heights are home to the late-afternoon sun. When Heaven's daily light has worked a day of prosperity, it rests on Western Heights, giving way to the moon that shines through the night.

The Cosmic Order From East to West

The Light Tower Church standing on Eastern Heights is built along the East-West line of the sun, defining the line of the cosmic order which assures Prosperity. Cosmic alignment was important to the Celts of the British Isles, as is seen in the architecture of the earliest times going back to the Stone Age.
